Hartford Primary School opened in 1968. It has grown considerably since the early days and now has a school population of over 400 pupils.
The school is organised into 14 single age classes. In recent years the building has been subject to extensive renovation including refurbishment of classrooms, new toilet facilities for all the children and a purpose built air-conditioned ICT suite. There is a spacious hall which is used for a variety of activities including dance, music, PE, assembly etc. and which serves as a dining room at lunchtime. There are also plans for continued improvements over the next 5 years, including development of the outdoor play areas.
If you require childcare there is a facility available (subject to vacancies) called Big Kids Count. This is open from 8.00-9.00am and then 3.15- 6.00pm. For more details please contact Mrs Jenks on 01606 872378.
The dedicated members of our teaching staff work with single age groups and are committed to providing a broad and balanced education in relation to both the National Curriculum and the literacy, numeracy and ICT strategies. |
The teaching staff comprises; the Head teacher, 12 full time and 4 part time teachers supported by a team of 6 teaching assistants. We also have a team of midday assistants who care for the children at lunchtime. The school has a site maintenance officer, bursar, admin assistant, cook, kitchen and cleaning staff.
The Staff are well supported by the Governors, many of who help on a regular basis during the school day. |
