THE SCHOOL DAY

THE START OF THE DAY

8.50am Teachers assemble on the playground.
8.55am The whistle is blown.

The first whistle means the children should stand still.

The second whistle is the signal for them to walk to their class lines. The teachers then lead their class into the school building.

PLAYTIME

10.05 – 10.25am Junior playtime.

10.30 – 10.50am Infant playtime.

2.30 – 2.45pm Infant playtime.

There are at least two members of staff on duty for each playtime.

SNACKS

Children are allowed to bring healthy snacks to eat at morning playtime, if they wish. We don’t allow the pupils to have sweets or fizzy drinks. The infant children are provided with a piece of fruit each day and the juniors can purchase a healthy snack at the snack counter run by the kitchen staff.

Due to children having severe allergic reactions, WE HAVE A POLICY THAT NO NUTS OR KIWI FRUIT ARE ALLOWED IN SCHOOL.

LUNCH

12.00 – 1.00pm Infant lunch
12.30 – 1.20pm Junior lunch

Children can purchase a hot school meal at lunchtime or bring a packed lunch. A canteen system is run in the school hall. Mid-day assistants are responsible for the children during the lunch hour.

END OF THE DAY

3.15pm Infant home time
3.20pm Junior home time

The children are dismissed from their classrooms and should be collected from the playground or the front of the school depending where their class is situated.

Big Kids Count
Children attending Big Kids Count will be collected by a member of their staff.
