The National Curriculum sets standards of achievement in each subject. They are described as levels of achievement. As a guide:
• The standard of level 2 should challenge a typical 7 year old • The standard of level 4 should challenge a typical 11 year old
This does not mean that every child will achieve these levels at age 7 and 11, or that children will achieve the same level in every subject. All children have particular interests and strengths. Some children will need extra support, while others will need additional challenge.
At Hartford Primary, assessment of achievement goes beyond this minimum requirement: • Key Stage 1 and 2 teachers use planned assessments activities scheduled through the year, covering all subjects. • In Key stage 2 standardised tests give more information as children progress through the school.
We recognise that children are individuals and use our assessment programme to match the curriculum for each child, maximising their opportunities for progress and achievement.New layer... |
